Itinerary

~ Day 1: Sofia – Malyovitsa area ~

A 1,5 hours drive will take us from the capital Sofia to Malyovitsa, a valley in the northwestern parts of Rila Mountains and one of the best ski touring areas. We’ll skin up at 1760 up to 1940 to reach Malyovitsa Hut, where we will stay for the night. We have a couple of options for the rest of the day: to climb The Camel Peaк or Popova Kapa Peak or warm with a half day of off piste skiing using Malyovitsa ski zone lifts along with some training with the avalanche equipment.

~ Day 2: Malyovitsa Peak ~

We start from the hut and climb the beautiful Malyovitsa Peak (+800), then go down the valley. Our second climb for the day might be the Nameless Peak which also has good slopes to ski down. Drive to the village of Govedartsi (20 min) and stay overnight in a family hotel.

~ Day 3: Musala Peak – Sofia ~

20 min drive will take us to the ski resort of Borovets, located in the foot of Mount Musala (2925 m). We take the gondola lift up to 2400 and then climb for 3 hours in order to reach the peak. We’ll ski all the way down to 1300 and than drive back to Sofia (1,5 hours).

Prices

How do we source our prices:

  1. Balkan Vagabondz receives a client request.
  2. The BV coordinator then reaches out to all the guides and guiding companies in the network to gather information on possible itineraries, availability and prices.
  3. Once we have all the options we send them to the client so he/she can select the best price, date and itinerary.

Please note negotiating prices is not always possible.

Essentially we are a price, availability and itinerary comparison site that helps people meet their adventure needs and save time along with providing extra customer service and consultation on top of the services you receive. All of this is free of charge as commission is taken from the suppliers.
